Peace Is Here
Grief is a natural reaction to the loss of a loved one. Every child will handle it differently, in his or her own unique way. It's important that these children know there's a source of strength and security, safety and sanity, in a world that, for them, has been torn apart. That's what Peace by Piece is all about. The only program of its kind in the area, Peace by Piece offers support groups twice per month for grieving children and teens. The program aims to help children express their grief and adapt to life following the death of someone they love. Much like piecing the squares of a one-of-a-kind quilt together, Peace by Piece help children gain peace a "piece" at a time. For additional information or to enroll a child, email bereavement@edmarc.org

Caring Volunteers, Like You, Are Needed
Several facilitators are needed to lead groups. We need individuals who can create a trusting, caring environment. You must be good at establishing relationships with children, able to listen and share. High levels of maturity, compassion and acceptance of others are a must. Experienced professionals, specially trained to work with bereaved children and families support volunteers. A 30-hour facilitator training course begins call or e-mail for dates. Act now to be a part of Peace by Piece! Just a few hours of your time each month can bring peace to the lives and hearts of grieving children and teens. For volunteer details email volunteer@edmarc.org or call Volunteer Coordinator, Jessica Plank at 757-967-9251 or e-mail Plankj@edmarc.org
